I used to be in favor of the death penalty, but I’ve since learned that some people on death row are wrongly convicted, and also that there really isn’t a humane, pain-free way for prisons to administer death. So until we are in a world where we are 100% sure of someone’s guilt, I can’t support the death penalty.
For those saying that pro-choice people are hypocrites for not supporting the death penalty: that is something called “whataboutism.” You can’t know every person’s reason for getting an abortion, it is a very personal decision that has nothing to do with the death penalty. You never know, the health/life of the mother and/or the fetus may be at risk to bring the pregnancy to term. Stop comparing apples to oranges.
