We the Veterans Were promised the best healthcare we could receive. That promise in many cases does not continue or exist, specifically in the Hiring, "Maintaining or Keeping" promising and highly qualified Doctors on Staff. The majority of the medical care that we received, is from local medical school students. This practice has become the norm with the Veterans Administration. We should be looking for permanency in our medical care professionals. Most of the students are only looking to put their time in, lacking the sensitivity to the patients and moving on to the private sector or other civilian hospital. These current Medical Attendant's (specifically the good ones) have only been given and offered on the job training and internship at the VA... however, their life span and Term with the health system in the VA is between six months to a year or two... This isn't working, We the Veterans are missing out on "Continued" proper medical attention, and run into the Dangers of these continued turnovers with our care...once we have found the proper qualified professional a NEW Medical History must start over again with someone New. It may be a cost savings for the VA Health system, But Falls far short from Veterans receiving proper Medical attention by Real qualified Professionals. Personally speaking to many of these Doctors they do express interest in staying on with the VA but not offered or paid for the opportunity to Stay on. WE ARE NOT guinea pigs for the VA health system.
