Whether you believe in climate change or not is really not the question. If you take this out of the argument, the answer is still clear that we need to continue to provide funds to address how we utilize natural resources. We are part of a global network in which for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. This impacts capitalism when for example you can’t find healthy workers because they do not have a clean water source, or a company has to shut down for days/weeks until it can find a new power source, or etc. I feel that this is a compelling argument whether you believe in climate change or not. Which means we can’t forget one of the fundamentals: for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. I don’t think “right” or “left” would be happy with the “opposite reaction” that would come from pulling this funding.
