Credit unions are not involved in the risky banking practices like Big Banks, which caused the regulations to be instated in the first place. Many of the regulations put in place reduce the likelihood of first time home buyers getting approved for loans and make the process much more difficult than it has to be. These are necessary for big banks and financers. Credit unions are not corporations. They are organizations (cooperatives) owned by their members and for their members. Vote yes for more nuanced regulations to make it easier for credit unions to compete with big banks. Also if you don’t like or agree with the practices of big banks, switch to a credit union!
