Anyone who fought under the confederate battle flag was an enemy combatant. The Confederate States of America declared themselves a separate nation, formed an Army, and fought a war against the United States. This war led to the deaths of 364,511 American Soldiers. Just because we brought the south back in to the country and choose to honor all those who died does not lessen the fact that the south fought a war against the United States. We would never allow another enemy to hang their battle flag in our national cemeteries so why do we allow this one?
