It's clear that the executive order is faulty and does nothing to help national security. The government's own data shows that country of origin is not a good predictor of terrorism. So from a scientific and national secretory perspective, the bill makes sense. However, it seems like a fairly useless law, since it only targets the existing executive order, and doesn't prevent a similar one from being drafted.
