If we are talking true Climate Change (like from the sun) then there is a definite need for this to be done. For being 93 Million miles away, the sun has a massive impact on our lives and our climate. And how many times has our power grid been affected by some kind of solar event that caused power to go out.
However, I think this question is about man-made climate change. Humanity does not have near enough power and control to significantly affect the climate. Sure you can get heat blooms in cities caused from reflections and the use of light colors (like concrete) to make an area locally warmer but as soon as you get out of the city, the temperature falls. I get the damage caused by pollutants and that is something that does need to be addressed.
I have yet to see a definitive document to effectively explain man-made climate change that is also able to explain all the variables that has seen planet warming and cooling in cycles over the billions of years of existence. That is also able to negate the impacts of the sun as well as volcanic and oceanic activity and the response mechanisms built into our planet to counteract these things (water cycle, oceanic currents, earth’s rotation, tilt and elliptical orbit).
