I provisionally say yes only because it is a tiny step in the right direction. What really needs to be done is eliminate ALL tax loopholes and deductions; period. All Americans, especially corporations, should pay income taxes using a simple percentage scale, e.g. 10%, 15%, 25%, 50%, based on their total gross income. The lowest percentages should be for those making the least. The 10% should apply to the bottom 50% of working Americans. The 15% should apply to the 51-75% group. The 25% bracket should apply to the 76-95% group. And the 50% bracket should apply to the 96-100% group. In other words, the top 5% of earners should pay 50% income tax. All military service veterans and retirees aged 65 or older making $250,000 per year or less should be exempted from all income tax for the rest of their lives. All military service veterans and retirees aged 65 or older making more than $250,000 per year should be assigned the 15% bracket for the rest of their lives.
