When there are this many US adults believing that the only factual sources of information are Trump's Tweets, Fox News, and the Bible, it suggests that quite a lot of schools in this country haven't been cutting the mustard and teaching children how to think. When we're willing to elect a President with no governing experience, no public service background, who lacks understanding of the American democratic system, and whose speeches and answers sound like presentations from 5th graders who didn't do their assignments, but who's rich and starred in a reality TV show, it seems like a lot of American students missed out on several important things. When it seems that half of society did not learn the lessons of history, it appears that schools across the nation have fallen through the cracks. When we stand for politicians who claim scientific facts are lies, and when having an education is seen as a negative, something has gone wrong. Having some minimum expectations is critical, and does not exclude states from having additional input.
