I definitely feel there should be a pathway to citizenship, it shouldn’t just be handed to them but it should be cheaper, not require an attorney, and be fair. It’s a tough situation because if someone’s parents embezzled $50 B from a company, and didn’t get caught for 18 years, then their kids wouldn’t be entitled to that money even though a rich life is all they know, the SEC would seize the assets. It doesn’t matter that it was the parent who broke the law, the kids shouldn’t benefit from it. These kids need to have a path to citizenship but they need to go to the back of the line and if they don’t want to do the work to be a citizen, they should be kicked out. That is not on us, it is on their parents.
