I was honestly going to vote "no" until I read all of the shockingly paranoid, angry, aggressive, and uninformed comments below. I'm an anthropologist and historian of sorts. I know you don't arrive at lasting peace and security by dividing your own society as we've done and engendering desperation and fear--at home or abroad. We could use some help. Yes, force is a necessary evil sometimes. But it's not the only tool in the box. Peacemaking isn't about creating a weird utopia/dystopia, it's about using our human capacity for logic, reason, and compassion to help solve the problems our baser instincts create. I don't see why reasonable people would oppose that. Except, of course, the gov't would probably screw it up, you know, because they're them. But why not try?
