I want more spending to keep people safe and healthy and to stimulate the economy as we struggle with this virus. We do need to do something to create jobs and pay people who are unable to work right now. However, I don't think it was fair to include items that had no chance of getting bipartisan support into this bill. I don't care about the cost; I care about compromise that can pass and get people working. And to those who are opposing this bill for political reasons: What do you propose? What will you do to help people who've now gone months without work and no way to return to work in sight? How can we use this crisis to reform healthcare, unemployment, and infrastructure in a way that will help the whole country? I challenge you all to work together to move forward, not sling mud and call names.
