Enforcement of immigration policies is a federal responsibility. It should not be shoved onto states and cities. This law also unfairly targets and vilifies undocumented immigrants (and immigrants in general). Data shows that, as a general trend, sanctuary cities actually have lower crime rates. This is because law enforcement is able to build a trust with the immigrant community who are then more likely to report criminal activity. If we "crack down" on sanctuary cities, especially with the use of local law enforcement, this relationship of trust will be eroded and crime rates will likely go up.
