I fully support 2nd Amendment Rights within reason. Fully automatic weapons were designed for one purpose. That is and was to kill large numbers of people with a heavy volume of fire. They have no practical use except on the battlefield. Anyone who says they want one because they are a collector or to have a thrill on a target range must have some bizarre fantasies.
