We need to do something about the gun violence in this country. I’m tired of hearing the slippery slope argument. I’m sorry, but doing nothing through all of these gun tragedies is a slippery slope in slowly eroding one of the staple freedoms that our founding fathers intended we preserve since the day they signed the Declaration of Independence. How you ask? Well how many rights do the victims of these tragedies have after they are deceased. How about the fact that every public place like a school has such a high security presence that you could mistake it for Fort Knox. I’m sorry but this is slowly preventing many people in this country from their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (Written in the Declaration of Independence). If you know you can prevent some of these tragedies, and you continue to do nothing all while the gun violence gets worse well then you my friend are denying many Americans the basic rights in which the founding fathers intended we retain from day one.
