I support reasonable gun controls and background checks are one of those policies I believe in. However, I believe in abolishing the FBI and believe that the storage of people's personal information for public use by the federal government is a blatant violation of 4th Amendment rights to privacy. If you're going to give personal information of yours to the government for public safety purposes then there needs to be maximum transparency (something the FBI has always lacked and still lacks to this day). The FBI has a bad track record of using people's personal info for surveillance programs, assassination attempts, and civil asset forfeiture of private property. I believe the expansion of the powers listed in this bill that would be given to the FBI are government overreach and therefore I do not support it.
