In having this debate we are choosing to forget the circumstances which prompted the President to exercise his executive order. There were far too many people's lives being put at risk, and congress was given EVERY opportunity to find a solution. This was done as a last resort in response to continued and stubborn inaction in the face of a problem that was clear and obvious on both sides of the aisle. The President acted to ease the tension, so that unliveable circumstances were not being imposed on millions of immigrant. You can bet that if the members of congress were held in the immigration detention facilities until they came to an agreement, the president wouldn't have ever needed to raise a finger.
