There are too many conflicting arguments at the present to determine the rightness or wrongness of this legislation. Of course, no one wants to be made fun of, discriminated against, bullied or treated unfairly. What parent hasn't experienced the challenges of child-raising when a child shows a preference for one sex over another. (At the age of five, I distinctly remember wanting to be a boy and refused to wear my bathing suit top when I went swimming in the lake with my cousins!!) We have a history of Declarations, Civil Rights cases and laws, federal laws, state laws, education professionals, social justice services, doctors, a UN Human Rights Declaration to protect the dignity of all human beings and their civil rights! And now that 38 states have ratified the Equal Rights Amendment, what is the delay in lifting the deadline so that it takes effect?
