All history throughout the world is a mixed bag. Much good and bad. If you haven’t been outside your bubble to experience real suffering in the world, it’s hard to comprehend the reality that we don’t embrace the bad because we remember the past and the good things people have done.
We are all blessed to live in a land where our basic freedoms are protected. Imperfect people who did many great things and sacrificed a LOT for you and me are to be thanked not crucified for their mistakes.
Sadly, uneducated, thoughtless people are taking this for granted and are losing their heads and their morals.
Remembering the founding fathers and upholding the constitution doesn’t mean we are racist or uncaring or unkind. By being a good American citizen, law-abiding, we are supporting the ideals of that constitution which people ought to read and think about a little more carefully before they act.
The rights and freedoms WE take for granted do not belong to a majority of people on this planet - and people are trampling them under their feet!
Come in, you who are taking all you have for granted and trashing the things that are making your life good! It’s not about perfection. It’s about striving for it and that’s what our country is founded upon. We will always have problems, but that is no excuse to break the law or hate or destroy our culture. The RIGHT way is not violence or doing bad things to anyone. That’s WRONG, even if you think it’s justified. And that’s NOT the American way.
History matters! History can teach and help us become better. We don’t have to lose our heads. We can look at the past and consider the good and the bad. We can adopt the good into our actions and eliminate the bad. But people are throwing out both when they are lawless and cruel to anyone.
We should have discussions and debates and use our minds to solve problems, not taking irracional action that will delivers unwanted consequences now in the future.
The decisions of the past weeks and months are hurting EVERY citizen of this country.
If you are freaking out about my message, please take deep breaths and reconsider. There is so much good and so many good people. Even the majority of law enforcement officers are decent people. Don’t listen to lies and hateful messages and think you have to adopt them. We can do better together than divided.
