I checked out the nay's concern that the bill would allow non-citizens to vote, but the bill states that the state officials would have access to citizenship status and would check this, with a stipulation that they would only use it to access qualification to vote. I'm guessing to rule out deporting someone after they visit the DMV? I support this bill because it makes sense to streamline the registration process to improve voter turnout. We've seen the confusion this election cycle especially with registration deadlines set unreasonably far ahead of primaries. Common sense bill.
