This is an issue close to my heart. I was raped and got pregnant. I was misled by the perpetrator and felt in danger so I let him do what he needed to do and I left. 4 to 5 weeks later I needed to have an abortion and thank god for planned parenthood. They were very helpful and supporting. Not only did I have shame from being sexually assaulted , I had the shame to end an unwanted unplanned pregnancy. There was. No way I would had that kid, it didn't feel like mine under the circumstances. I am pro choice and pro life. It is a decision to be made by yourself with you doctor and your own intuition. Personally, I don't like male congressmen determining that Gods gift of the baby is a way to comfort the new mother from the tragic way it was conceived. (Rick Santorum) until men begin having babies, they don't get to tell me how I treat my body just to make them feel better at being a man. Until birth control is equally responsible by men and women and not solely relied on women to provide the birth control, will it be fair.
