It is a delicate balance in the Southwest and water is life here but this is the way to move. While always sympathetic with agriculture in terms of small farmers and ranchers it is time to look a stock more suited to the high deserts and crops as well. Crops needing a great deal of irrigation will need to be grown elsewhere as the Southwest grows more drought resistant crops and livestock suited for less water. The Southwest, already challenged, needs to become even more ingenious. This is the way to do it.
