Every day I'm becoming more and more aware that we, The United States of America, are becoming a culture of war. This scares me, "We hold these truths to be self-evident all men are created equal . . ." and yet we systematically destroy other people for the self interest of the few; that is to say the economic gain of a few individuals and companies. How does this make us, The United States of America, any less then the bully patrolling the world playground for lunch money of weaker children of the world? We are a war mongering nation not concerned with peace or the ideals on which this country was founded but instead on the profits that can be gleamed from warfare. Warfare that is measured by the trillions of dollars, creating a tax burden upon the poor of this country and at an even greater price paid by their sons and daughters who continue to die on foreign soil. The cost for the defense of the interest of an elite few far exceeds the benefit gained for the people of this country. We should therefore turn our backs, i.e. repent, on our culture of war and appropriate less for the sake of warfare and more for the sake of the people of this country.
