Hemp is one of the oldest domesticated crops in the US. The pluses of hemp far outweigh any negatives. Hemp is cultivated for fiber and seed and the THC content is far lower than that in cultivated marijuana. It has many uses in manufacturing, but it is mostly exported rather than capitalized on because of US law. There is a possibility that hemp based products could replace plastics which are an extreme hazard to our environment. If industrial hemp was not so controlled there would be a huge market for it as farmers would be given the freedom to grow it, companies could use it in manufacturing and research could be open for further uses. If controls were removed from hemp, Donald Trump could claim thousands and thousands of new jobs and economic growth.
