Let’s not remove pieces of history good or bad. It is a reminder to ourselves to always be ready to negotiate when times get tuff. We have to remember the Industrial Revolution was in full swing in the north. The south was strictly agriculture. Congress at that was not much different than today. Quick to blame the other but no negotiations. These statues within the halls of congress are reminders of our good and bad decisions. If we wash away all the so called dirt, future generations will not know the truth of our mistakes. These statues are reminders of bad choices men can make. And some good choices also. It came to mind if we destroy all our statues within the halls of Congress, we will be just like the first Christians who destroyed all the statues in the Pantheon. Won’t that be some historical reminder.
