Yes! Most of these young people with degrees can't even start their lives - marriage, families, homes - until that debt is paid off. It's a huge burden they had to take on because of the greed of universities and the simple fact that most well-paying jobs can only be had with a college degree. A high school education was once all you needed to get a job and work your way up. Now, without that degree, there is no 'working your way up,' you're just stuck in the lower paying jobs. Not fair, but a sad fact. Our government did nothing to rein in the costs of higher education, just like they've done nothing to rein in the costs of medical care, drugs or anything else, so cancelling out the monstrous debt the next generation has been saddled with is the least they/we can do.
