Federal funds for education must be used for programs that improve public schools that are in need of new facilities and better teaching programs. Schools using PC notebooks are only selective teaching. Kids no longer read the entire textbook, just excerpts selected. That’s degrading the education being offered. Computers are great assets but only if the book is available. If the state uses federal funds for school vouchers, it benefits private schools & highly rated public schools. It does not encourage improvements in all schools. There must always be a requirement for local schools to maintain the standards required for equal education.
Students with legal study plans under the disability act are not being maintained. There is no effort to teach how the child can learn. It’s taught as the teacher pleases, to understand or fail. The teacher makes no attempt to adjust to the students learning method. These children are passed until they are so lost they fail the class or the faculty advises home or private schooling. The school cannot afford for these students failing to negatively affect their accreditation standards. So these top rated schools really aren’t such good schools. They don’t teach. They don’t even read the textbooks.
So federal funds should be reserved for specific programs that really improve education.
