This Bill doesn't apply justice equally. I understand Conservatives don't want their tax dollars going for abortion. I and other Liberals want OUR tax dollars to support women's reproductive health. The Bill governs Insurance plans often co-provided by employers and purchased with dollars the covered earn. I'm not asking any pro-life individual to pay for my abortion but conversely they should not be allowed to take away or restrict my choice. The fundamental rights of the individual must be respected for both sides. This Bill fails to do so just as the fervent picketing and violence toward providers have since Roe vs. Wade. The Bill is a thinly disguised measure calculated to overturn Roe vs. Wade legislatively. The intention should be frank and above board then voted upon. This partisan politics has to stop and constant efforts to diminish choice has to stop. Conservatives should get to say they don't like abortion but not to prevent me from having one. I'm 67 and never had an abortion. This statement recognizes the myriad women so desperate to not carry a child they couldn't care for that they were willing to risk their lives to stop it.
