Yes the popular vote would favor areas of high population density and not favor areas of low population density, but why should one farmer in the Midwest have equal say as 10 people in a city. A democracy means that majority wins, it should not depend on where one lives. If the majority of people live in a liberal area, the government should reflect a liberal population. If the majority of people live in a conservative area, the government should reflect the conservative area. We have a House of Representatives and a Senate to represent the more broad range of political beliefs voiced by rural areas and large cities. The president should be for everyone. I live in a rural area and still believe popular vote is better than an electoral college. Each vote should be equal, regardless of location or belief system.
