This is a tough one for me, but I come down on the side of supporting HR 6090. I can see both (actually multiple) sides of the issue, but the most important concern is that AI research continues and a rapid pace and with exponential growth. And this is not just a "concern" of science fiction writers, but of many academically grounded scientists and futurists. Please check out the concept of the singularity, for example, a frightening prospect written about by many such scientists, including Vernor Steffen Winge and Raymond Kurzweil. Congress needs to be kept informed from time to time about AI developments for just this reason, and others as well.
