This needs to be resolved as soon as possible. It is a smear on America’s world reputation. We have the technology and the funds. Much of the cost would be recounted once a permanent facility goers online because what we are doing now is very expensive. My only suggestion is that the bill be amended to develop technology to reuse this nuclear waste so that at some point we will have no waste. In addition, I am totally uncomfortable with the Yucca Mountain site. Why not buy an remote island or use Bimini where nuclear testing took place for years. I fount know how much land is needed. Nor do I know the type of topography a permanent facility requires. But I am certain that such a remote island exists. Until this bill is before Congress for debate, there amendment process cannot proceed. Please do not be rushed to a vote just because the energy lobby has bought the votes of those members who came up with this bill which has flaws. Some we may not know at this time. We cannot afford to fail. Our health and that of all living beings and bugs is at risk. Our entire ecosystem as well. Man was tasked to be good stewards of the earth by our Creator. We are the only sentient beings. We were given dominion. This only one area that we have failed to be good stewards in.
