This is a privacy issue. HIPPA is not a privacy law. Read it! It was sold to us as a privacy law but the truth is that it took privacy rights away from the patient. The patient does not control his/her records anymore. There is no opportunity for an objective second opinion. They access your records without your knowledge or permission. The use your medical data without your permission. HIPPA is an anti-privacy law. This provision was protected. It needs to stay confidential. It will only lead to bias and will discourage addicts from getting treatment.
