There in lies the rub with the Constitution; There are many people in this land of ours that would declare a particular race, particular creed, a particular ethnicity, a particular sexuality or a particular economic group as being terrorist. As seen in the current Presidential race, some candidates have proposed that all Muslims are in fact terrorist. The vast majority of Muslims are not, in fact many have been on the soil of United States of America longer than many of their Anglo counterparts. The heart of the constitution is that all men are created equal and are endowed with certain inalienable rights. If you were to deny those rights to one group for whatever reason, you must there for, deny them to all citizens of this country. We are a country of bullies. When someone attacks us they are terrorists, when we attack others we are patriots. It is not simply a matter of semantics, it is a matter of human lives. Now back to the matter at hand, The DOJ can deny permits to criminals; They should deny permits to non citizens but they can not deny permits to a few of this country's citizens because you think they might/possibly/maybe/have a terroristic thought but then again we're not sure that they do. Unless of course you want to strengthen such processes for all people of United States of America. Yes that would mean stricter gun control for everyone. A possibility that I'm not opposed to.
