I shouldn't have my every action watched just because a company wants to market to me, or a government wants to create a 'big brother' state. I'm all for minimal government regulation of the economy but there's a line I have to draw with my privacy. No government or business has any need to listen to or watch me in my own house in order to collect info. I don't buy computers, phones, DVRs, etc., to have information collected on me, especially without my knowing or consent. A law, or laws (if need be), should be passed to protect me from fervent marketing practices. The fact that Verizon filed for a patent to develop technology to be able to spy on unaware people should be enough evidence that these corporate empires need laws to restrain their growing power over the public.
