I support this because as long as there are toys that appear to look like real firearms, even in the slightest, a police officer has an excuse to shoot someone who is unarmed. This law is helpful both to the public and to officers who feel their life is in danger. Though this in fact needs to be coupled with legislation on firearms to make them look less like toys. People shouldn't be able to buy a bright purple deadly firearm and then wonder why police fear someone carrying an orange air soft pistol. It blurs the lines between what is a deadly weapon and what isn't. I believe there needs to be some sort of clear visual distinction between which is potentially deadly and which is a child's plaything.
