It costs between $20,000-$50,000 per year, per inmate to house a federal prisoner, depending on the state. Health care, food, education, etc. Why should we pay to incarcerate prisoners, when we can just deport them? I'd wager that it costs less money per inmate to repeatedly deport than it would to incarcerate. In fact according to a couple of websites (of course not everything online is true), it costs about $13,000 to deport 1 individual. From a cost standpoint, it's cheaper to deport and monitor. If immigrants want to be here so bad, they can go through the proper path to citizenship.
