Senator Blunt, I find it incredibly irresponsible and inappropriate to repeal the Affordable Care Act and all of the precedents it has set for finding a way to cover the many Americans who are uninsured or have no way to afford healthcare. As a graduating senior, having the prospect of not being able to stay on my parent's health insurance, something allowed by the ACA, is daunting and terrifying for me. I am going into a career that is known to be incredibly unstable, and unless I am fortunate enough to work my way into the union and make enough money from union work every year, I will be unable to afford health coverage on my own. Working a minimum wage job, that would otherwise be part-time, is not enough to sustain rent, car payments, gas, groceries, car insurance, and any form of healthcare, let alone be able to save for my future and be able to afford to put any children I might have in the future into college. It's just not possible. Having the extra 4 years to establish myself with the union I am going into and make enough money to gain my own healthcare through that is a much better situation than the one you are voting to put me in, and as a representative for me and every other resident of the state of Missouri, especially soon-to-be college graduates, I would ask that you do not vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Thank you.
