I'm more of a fan of allowing states to decide what term limits are appropriate for their state. While I'm a staunch supporter of elections being the term limit, I absolutely understand the logic behind a constitutional term limit for congressional representatives. The new injection of fresh ideas is a plus, and freeing lawmakers from the pressures of being re-elected every term, allowing them to do work and not have to spend 10% of their time fundraising - those are good ideas. But I'm also worried this won't do any good in the long term. I worry about the coronation of candidates. I also worry about those states who have a small candidate pool. I think you'll see a lot of transplanting - people moving to a location just to run for office. But at the end of the day, I'm not convinced this will help, so my vote is 'nay' until I read information otherwise.
