Yes, delay this permanently. The overtime rule is more Democommie federal Nanny State overreach. Employees are capable of negotiating for themselves, or they would be, if they weren't "educated" (indoctrinated is more like it) under Common Core!
According to Countable:
Sponsoring Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI) introduced this bill because he believes that Congress has “an urgent responsibility to act” in the face of a pending regulation that will “hurt the very people it’s intended to help.” Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) called the overtime rule an “absolute disaster” for businesses that would hurt the economy:
“By mandating overtime pay at a much higher salary threshold, many small businesses and nonprofits will be unable to afford skilled workers and be forced to eliminate salaried positions, complete with benefits, altogether.”
The Obama administration released a statement saying that if the bill were to reach the president’s desk, it would be vetoed because it’d “endanger a critical step toward promoting higher pay” by delaying the overtime rule:
“While this bill seeks to delay implementation, the real goal is clear — delay and then deny overtime pay to workers. With a strong economy and labor market, now is a good time for employers to provide these essential protections for workers, who cannot afford to wait.”
This legislation has the support of 74 cosponsors in the House, including 73 Republicans and one Democrat.
