The Holocaust is crucially important to understand, but it’s been well-covered throughout my education; so I don’t see a reason for these grants. I would, however, support grants aimed at teaching students about how Marx’s Communist ideals resulted in the tragic execution of 100 million innocent people. Nobody thinks the Nazi idea of prosecution on the basis of race is okay, but more than a third of millennials approve of communism (according to a MarketWatch poll). If that stat doesn’t rattle you to your core then you didn’t properly learn twentieth century history, and clearly that’s not uncommon. So let’s put our money towards that!
