Repealing the Affordable Care Act has proven to be nothing more than political backlash against the Obama administration than anything for the American people that it would actually affect. In many cases, each of these attempts to repeal the ACA has often come at times when this administration is looking to cover something else up. Maybe in this case it could be to distract from the Russia investigation, who knows. It would also appear that Congress is looking to take full advantage of the public’s short term memory since the affects of this repeal wouldn’t be felt immediately. Perhaps many will not link future health crises with this repeal and so our current Congress will get off scott free in that regard. They continue to sabotage the ACA and when it all hits the fan they will claim that they bear no blame, or, if they get their repeal now, they will just deflect from their safe spaces. The politics at play here are juvenile at best and it is clear that they do not have the American people’s best interests in mind. Our representatives should prioritize remedying the flaws over trying to rack up personal wins. So tired of this.
