A nation's security is not just based on how many ships and guns it has or how much of its treasure is spent on purchasing these things. Real security depends on a nation's inner core values....like a strong work ethic, its moral strength, its willingness to sacrifice and mostly its belief that it is correct in what it is pursuing. It also depends on maintaining its physical infrastructure and committing itself to the highest standards in its education of its young. No matter how much money is given to the Pentagon to go on a shopping spree it will not and it cannot guarantee America's safety if we have let these other issues fall by the wayside.......and frankly we have. It seems, at least to me, that America's infrastructure is collapsing around us and worse yet...we seem to have lost our moral compass. The quality of education in America has slipped so far down the scale that from what I observe graduating high school seniors can barely write a legible paragraph or solve a simple algebra equation. I hope I'm wrong but I think I can see now why the Chinese are starting to pull ahead of America in their pursuit of technological superiority. If they win that race the American Empire is doomed.
