Even the major religions of the world disagree on when a fertilized egg is granted personhood. I think this is a decision that an individual must make for his or herself, it cannot be legislated. This is a poorly disguised attempt by the evangelical right to interfere with reproductive rights. They don't want to pay for employees' contraception, they don't approve of abortion and they want to squash welfare to children. It is the money and the power over others that turns these people on. And to legitimize their stands, they hide behind "the Word of God" and cherry pick those words to fit their agenda. I am for a Constitutional Amendment that would stop Christians from running for office. Want to know if a drunk driver hits a pregnant woman causing her to miscarry at 8 weeks will the be charged with murder. From the cases I have read about, the answer is no. Then everyone is quick to point out that the fetus was not yet a real person.
