The year before I applied for college, my father began working for a new employer. Until that year, we had lived at the poverty line, and then suddenly, we were making more money than ever before. However, because of our previous economic status, we had no savings for college. This was bad for my FAFSA, because it meant that I received little aid. This bill would prevent families from experiencing what I did in the future, and would enable generations of students whose parents are improving their own lives to not be penalized.
