I think this is a necessary precaution for the American congress going forward. The American people have been screwed over too many times because of things snuck into a bill that has no real issue with the bill at hand. Now yes, if there is an issue that requires a complex multi- faceted approach which would result in legislation that covers different fronts of the American life (ie civil right law) then yes allow a multiple issue case. Although, this isn't what we are seeing with the majority of bills being passed through congress today. We are seeing interests of the author ( or the corporation that bought them) be represented in a bill that has nothing to do with them. We deserve transparency and the only way to do this is through a single issue approach, with the exception of complex legislation.
