"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse if your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me: I shall lift my lamp beside the golden door." -Emma Lazarus. We need to do all we can, all that is within our power, to help refugees, to welcome them into outer country. We cannot be a nation that turns away the tired, poor masses. If we do, we become nothing less than outright hypocrites, and undermine the values on which we stand.
