Coming from someone who chooses not to be on birth control, if "male contraceptives" (condoms) can be bought without a prescription, then "female contraceptives" should be available over the counter without a prescription as well. I understand that birth control is a drug and should be regulated, yes, but you shouldn't need a doctor to tell you it's ok to buy birth control. You can buy a lot of drugs, like allergy medicine and pain killers, without a doctor's approval. Birth control shouldn't be any different. I've been saying this for a while and I'll say it again, men should NOT be allowed to tell women what to do with their bodies, vaginas, or their reproductive agenda.
