A teachers performance, like any other job, should be measured by their employer, and their clientele. I have been a teacher for ten years and I believe strongly that I produce the results that I do because I have been granted a degree of autonomy from my employers to train and prepare on my own time with my own materials. If my the performance of my students is superior, then I should be allowed to continue training and preparing myself in this way. There is no student that is alike-so why do we think that it makes sense to have a one-size-fits-all preparation program?
