In line with the Democratic statement "Nearly two months ago we debated President Trump’s budget. It was a shockingly extreme document that gave to the rich and took from everyone else… But this budget again displays total indifference to the challenges Americans face. The House budget embraces the worst extremes of the Trump proposal: tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires at the expense of American families, our economic progress, and our national security. The budget includes $5.4 trillion in mandatory and discretionary spending cuts. It reduces non-defense discretionary investments to the lowest level, relative to the size of the economy, since the 1960s, and then cuts more." I don't agree with making Medicare a voucher system that will not cover the needs of our elderly. I don't agree with giving tax breaks to the wealthiest among us by depriving support to our least-well off citizens. I am disgustewith the Republican approach of identifying population groups that they deem are "unworthy" in order to disenfranchise them and stop funding all support to them. The Republican platform is deplorable. House Representatives, please DO NOT pass this into law. It will require a whole lot of work to improve the budget, how the money is spent domestically. Please stop increasing the industrial/military complex spending.
