The time for this has come! JTJ, when you say that nowhere in the constitution does it say that healthcare is a right, you are overlooking the meaning of the phrase "promote the general welfare" in the constitution's preamble. This refers to the concern of the government for the HEALTH, peace, morality, and safety of its citizens. Providing for the welfare of the general public is a basic goal of government. The preamble to the U.S. Constitution cites promotion of the general welfare as a primary reason for the creation of the Constitution. So providing for the health of its citizens is a basic goal of govt!
